Crowdfunding the next Tir à L'arc champions

Kia ora everyone,

Thanks to your generous support 3 years ago, I'm finally off to the 2023 Oceania Championships in Adelaide!

After a long wait through Covid, Aotearoa has finally opened back up to the rest of the world, and this year I was selected for the 2023 Trans Tasman Challenge and the 2023 World Archery Oceania Championships. These are being held back to back in Adelaide this month, and I'm boarding the plane on Wednesday! While I'm there I'll also be competing in the South Australian Grand Prix, which will be the biggest competition I've ever shot in. It'll be an intense and exciting two weeks of archery in Aussie!

Oh, and by the way, I have been competing since we last spoke! This season, I started off the year winning the Archery NZ National Championships in the Open Women's Recurve division. I won gold in the Target, Individual Matchplay, and Mixed Teams Matchplay, and silver in the Teams Matchplay - and I only competed in those four events, so I was pretty stoked. I'm currently ranked 1st in Open Women's Recurve and U21 Women's Recurve in the Archery NZ rankings for February and March. My scores have been heading up, and I'm really excited for what the rest of this year has to offer.

Wow! Three years later and I have the honor of once again being selected to represent NZ.

Oceania Challenge will be held in Adelaide in April 2023

Hi everyone,

I’ve just returned from a great tournament in Tauranga, the North Island Youth Champs. I came away with gold in the ranking round and two silvers for the two types of matchplay. More importantly, I was very happy with my shooting, and scored a personal best in the ranking round.

Unfortunately, due to the situation with Covid-19 at the moment, Oceania Championships, like so many other events around the world, has been indefinitely postponed. I am obviously very disappointed about this, but I realise we are not the only people in this situation. I will still be training hard and working on my archery, and aiming towards future international events, such as Youth Worlds next year, which I am hoping to attend.

Once again, I want to thank you all for your generous support; it has been overwhelming.

My commitment to my archery journey continues and, should you wish to leave your contribution with me, it will be put towards archery gear and future international tournaments.

However, since the primary reason for the fundraiser is no longer relevant, I understand if you would like your contribution returned. If so, please reply to this email with a bank account number in which I will deposit the money, once it has been paid into my account by the Sportfunder organisation.
